Job Details:
The Protocol Solutions team, part of Keysight Technologies, develops industry-leading PCIe and CXL protocol test solutions used by engineering teams worldwide to design, validate, and debug next-generation high-speed systems. Our solutions support the development of advanced computing platforms across industries including data center, AI/accelerators, semiconductor, storage, networking, and communications.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of system and platform software for next-generation PCIe protocol test hardware platforms (Gen7 and beyond). Working closely with hardware and FPGA development teams, you will help enable new hardware capabilities through robust and scalable software components.
In this role, you will participate in translating product requirements into high-quality system designs and implementations, support hardware platform bring-up, and integrate software components required to enable protocol analysis and testing capabilities. The role also involves collaborating with external partners whose software libraries are integrated into the platform.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement system-level software features for next-generation PCIe protocol test hardware platforms (Gen7 and beyond).
- Work closely with hardware and FPGA teams to enable new hardware capabilities and support platform bring-up.
- Develop and maintain software components that interact with custom hardware and FPGA subsystems.
- Integrate and maintain third-party software libraries used within the platform.
- Participate in system debugging, performance optimization, and validation of new hardware platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, FPGA, system software, and application software teams.
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of code quality, testing, and maintainability within the software platform.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of R&D experience in software product development.
- Strong experience in C++ and/or C# software development.
- Solid understanding of software design principles and object-oriented programming.
- Experience developing system or platform software interacting with hardware.
- Experience in multithreading and performance optimization.
- Experience with modern development practices (version control, CI/CD, testing).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, Git, Jira, Confluence.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong command of English in written and spoken communication.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of PCIe protocol or high-speed interconnect technologies.
- Experience collaborating closely with hardware and FPGA development teams.
- Experience integrating third-party software libraries or external software components.
- Familiarity with protocol analysis or hardware test platforms.
