About this Job
Working at Freudenberg: We will wow your world!
Responsibilities:
You manage and coordinate development projects in the field of tribology for machine elements such as gears, bearings, seals, or sliding pairs — particularly for robotic drive systems. You develop test concepts and carry out tribological test series, supported by statistical methods and AI-based evaluations, to assess friction, wear, and lubrication under realistic loads. Working closely with interdisciplinary teams, you integrate tribological insights directly into the development of lubricants for modern robotics and drive systems. You analyze failure mechanisms and develop strategies to optimize lubrication, service life, and energy efficiency — including simulations and validations. You support the development of predictive maintenance models and prepare technical documentation as well as presentations.
Qualifications:
You have a completed degree with a focus on tribology, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field — or you impress us with your practical expertise. With your experience in automation, robotics, or precision engineering, you feel at home in demanding technical environments and have ideally already successfully managed interdisciplinary R&D projects. You convince us with your solid expertise in tribology, lubrication and surface technology, as well as your hands-on experience with component testing and modern analytical methods. You are proficient in data analysis tools and in the use of MATLAB or Python. With your strong analytical skills, clear communication, and business-fluent English, you are well prepared for international collaboration.
