About this Job

This position defines and validates the core measurement algorithms for a handheld laser 3D scanner.

This role is responsible for building the CPU reference algorithms, calibration logic, subpixel accuracy model, and 3D reconstruction pipeline that guide FPGA implementation and determine final measurement quality.

1.    Develop CPU reference algorithms for:

  • laser stripe extraction
  • subpixel center localization
  • noise filtering
  • feature validation
  • triangulation-based 3D reconstruction

2.    Define the algorithm reference flow for:     Image → Stripe → Subpixel → 3D Point → Point Cloud 3.    Build golden datasets and validation methods for FPGA comparison. 4.    Define accuracy metrics and error evaluation methods, including:

  • pixel-level error
  • subpixel deviation
  • point cloud consistency
  • calibration residuals
  • repeatability

5.    Work with the FPGA engineer to translate algorithm logic into hardware-friendly modules. 6.    Work with the system engineer to define data formats, interfaces, and validation checkpoints. 7.    Support calibration, prototype testing, and measurement performance analysis.

1.    Strong background in image processing, computer vision, or 3D measurement algorithms 2.    Proficiency in C++ / Python / MATLAB for algorithm development and validation 3.    Experience with at least one of the following:

  • laser stripe extraction
  • subpixel localization
  • camera calibration
  • triangulation
  • point cloud processing
