Job Description:
Designed to give a high-potential student a 360- degree view of the product development lifecycle, this is a one year intensive internship program based in Bucharest.
Ready for this challenge?
From low-level Firmware and hardware design to high-level PC software interfaces, you will rotate through four key engineering departments every 3 months. The aim of this rotation is to familiarize yourself with various technical activities, ranging from hardware design and sensor integration to Firmware and GUI development, and identify the area where you are the best at for a long-term career.
How will these rotations work?
1. Hardware Applications (3 Months) Focus will be on: PCB Design and Analog integration Activities:
- Assist in designing Evaluation and Demo boards for analog products (ADCs, DACs, Power Monitors); perform in-house prototype assemblies using soldering and reÌow tools; contribute to the corporate component library.
2. Embedded Applications - Core (3 Months) Focus will be on: 8-bit PIC and AVR Microcontrollers Activities:
- Assist in designing embedded solutions and Proofs of Concept; document the solutions technical characteristics; use laboratory equipment to validate functionality.
3. Inductive Position Sensors (IPS) (3 Months) Focus will be on: Specialized Sensor Applications Activities:
- Design embedded solutions specifically using the Inductive Position Sensors portfolio; develop reference designs and application libraries to support Field Application Engineers (FAEs).
4. Software Applications (3 Months) Focus will be on: PC-based Tools and GUIs Activities:
- Develop PC-based Graphical User Interfaces to monitor and interface with embedded systems; work with at least one of the following languages C/C++/C#/Python/JS; provide maintenance and new functionalities to existing software applications.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Education: Final year or Master’s student in Computer Science, Automatics, Electronics, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering.
Technical Skills:
Software experience with Embedded C and/or Assembly.
Knowledge of PC-based code development (at least one of the following languages: C, C++, C#, Python, JS or VB.NET) and OOP principles.
Basic knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB).
Ability to read and interpret schematics and use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, meters).
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work in a team environment with very good communication skills in English.
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with Microchip development tools and microcontroller families (PIC, AVR, Atmel).
Experience with PCB layout CAD tools (e.g., Kicad, Altium Designer).
Knowledge of versioning systems like SVN or Git.
Interest in 3D printing and mechanical demo assembly.
