Job Requirements

  • Design robotic kinematics, dynamics, and motion planning strategies according to the timing, budget and quality of the projects assigned
  • Ensures the technical integrity of the work delivered from the Global Engineering Hub
  • Coaches and leads Engineers, Assistant Engineers, the focus is on developing their technical & engineering management skills

The typical Engineering activities include,

Details of the Engineering Scope of Work:

  1. Design & Development
  2. Design robotic kinematics, dynamics, and motion planning strategies.
  3. Implement robotic arm and mobile platform configurations.
  4. Develop algorithms for trajectory optimization and motion control.
  5. Ensure robot positions align accurately with provided 3D files.
  6. Optimize robot trajectories for smooth motion, allowing 100% speed operation without overloading robot axes.
  7. System Integration
  8. Integrate perception systems, including cameras, LiDAR, and IMU sensors.
  9. Implement real-time data processing for enhanced robotic perception.
  10. Ensure seamless communication between robot controllers and external systems.
  11. Comply with software requirements, using tools such as:
  12. FANUC: Roboguide (version 9 Rev. T)
  13. KUKA: WorkVisual (version 6.0), KUKA.SIM (version 4.3)
  14. ABB: RobotStudio (version 2024)
  15. STAUBLI: SRS (version 2022.3.3)
  16. Safety & Compliance
  17. Develop safety protocols in accordance with industry standards (ISO 10218, ANSI/RIA R15.06, etc.).
  18. Perform risk assessments and implement fail-safe mechanisms.
  19. Validate compliance with functional safety requirements.
  20. Ensure compliance with programming standards, requiring:
  21. Clean, well-structured, optimized, and properly commented code with no leftover scripts.
  22. Fault-free execution and adherence to best programming practices.
  23. Testing & Validation
  24. Conduct simulation-based and real-world testing of robotic applications.
  25. Perform debugging and fine-tuning to optimize system performance.
  26. Ensure system reliability and robustness through iterative validation processes.
  27. Provide simulation videos covering all sequences for validation purposes.
  28. On-Site Support
  29. Travel to customer sites for debugging, system commissioning, and machine qualification.
  30. Provide technical support and troubleshooting as required.
  31. Assist in training end-users on system operation and maintenance.
  32. Participate in follow-up meetings as scheduled by the Client.

Additionally, the role requires the following experience,

  • Collaborate closely with Team Leaders of other departments and Project Management, to align project objectives.
  • Ensure that all required procedures and standards are implemented and respected.
  • Establish an organizational structure and effective communication protocols.
  • Establish phases in the tasks and make weekly / fortnightly reviews with team members to take corrective actions.
  • Enhance the internal training and propose potential improvements regarding Robotic processes (Methodology / Standardization)
  • Support the creation of a library of standard groups and components and ensure the application of the Robotics engineering internal standardization guidelines.
  • Ensure Manuals and technical reports are developed accurately.
  • Verify the design calculations of other engineers within the Robotics Engineering team.
  • Create positive impact to all stakeholders (customers, suppliers, partners, internal organization, etc.) by sharing Quest Global Customer’s strong brand values, essence, philosophy, heritage, way of doing, purpose, value proposition, etc.

Example of Engineering Deliverables

  • Complete and functional source code of the developed software.
  • Simulation videos covering all sequences.
  • System integration reports and validation test results.
  • Final technical report summarizing project outcomes and recommendations.
  • Preliminary reviews and program backups if requested by the Client’s technical lead.

Work Experience

Robotics and Vision systems programming. Previous experience in programming tools of FANUC, KUKA, ABB, STAUBLI, COGNEX.

Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

HW domain

  1. Must be proficient with Robotic Path Teaching and have wide experience in robot simulation
  2. Knowledge of automation systems, industrial fieldbuses and programming languages.
  3. Knowledge of industrial electricity and capable of understanding electrical diagrams
  4. Technical documentation (drawings, specifications, etc.)

Soft skills:

  1. Working experience in an international team
  2. Green Belt 6-Sigma Certification / Experience
  3. Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  4. Flexible to travel
  5. Knowledge of Spanish, Polish, Chinese or German will be positively valued
