We are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our R&D team in Athens. You will play a key role in the design, development, and deployment of autonomous robotic systems, contributing to products that operate in demanding real-world environments (e.g., solar farms, marine structures).
Responsibilities:
Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for robotic systems
Create and maintain 3D CAD models and technical drawings
Contribute to mechanism design (mobility systems, frames, enclosures, end-effectors)
Support prototype development, testing, and validation in lab and field conditions
Perform engineering calculations (stress, fatigue, tolerances, environmental loads)
Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure manufacturability and scalability
Collaborate with electronics, software, and AI teams for system integration
Participate in field deployments and performance evaluation
Prepare documentation (BOMs, technical reports, design reviews)
Continuously improve designs based on testing and operational feedback
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
1–4 years of experience (or strong project experience) in mechanical design / robotics
Good knowledge in CAD tools (SolidWorks)
Solid understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, materials, and manufacturing processes
Experience with prototyping and hands-on engineering work
Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced R&D environment
Good communication skills in English
Nice to have:
Experience in robotics, mechatronics, or autonomous systems
Exposure to FEA / simulations
Familiarity with harsh-environment design (marine, outdoor, thermal constraints)
Hands-on experience with 3D printing, machining, or assembly
Basic understanding of control systems or embedded hardware
Work on real-world autonomous robotic systems with global deployment
