Digital Hardware Design Engineer
Bloomington, MN
Pay Estimated: $55.40-$60.40/Hour
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
- Perform schematic capture and PCB/PWB layout for complex digital hardware designs
- Design systems incorporating FPGAs, DDR memory interfaces (DDR3, DDR4, LPDDR4), and digital interfaces (I2C, SPI, SDIO)
- Collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated system performance
- Support hardware bring-up, debug, and validation using laboratory test equipment
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles throughout the program lifecycle
- Contribute to signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis and constraint definition
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM discipline
- Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant hardware design experience OR
- Masters degree with 3+ years of related experience
- Technical Expertise:
- Digital schematic capture and PCB/PWB layout
- FPGA-based systems and high-speed memory interfaces (DDR3, DDR4, LPDDR4)
- Digital communication interfaces: I2C, SPI, SDIO
- Use of lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and related tools
- Siemens Xpedition or equivalent PCB design tools (Altium, Cadence, etc.)
- Signal Integrity / Power Integrity analysis and constraint management
- Experience with advanced PCB materials, packaging techniques, and high-speed designs
