Sr DSP Software Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms and embedded software for undersea sensor applications.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate DSP solutions into embedded platforms.
  • Conduct performance analysis and algorithm optimization to ensure reliability in harsh underwater conditions.
  • Document DSP algorithms, software design, and system integration details.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Stay up to date with emerging DSP technologies and trends in the undersea sensor domain.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and system testing to ensure delivery quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve DSP software and system issues in deployed undersea systems.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; Masters preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience (or 6+ years with a Masters degree).
  • Active DoD Secret clearance required at time of hire.
  • Strong expertise in C/C++ for embedded systems.
  • Proven experience developing and optimizing DSP algorithms for undersea or sonar sensor systems.
  • Familiarity with DSP hardware platforms and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Solid understanding of signal processing theory applicable to undersea acoustics and sonar.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB or similar tools for simulation and algorithm development.
  • Experience with submarine or surface ship sonar systems and oceanographic data modeling is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML techniques applied to signal processing is beneficial.
  • On-site work or travel may be required, depending on project needs.
