Control and instrumentation engineers (C&I engineers) are responsible for designing, developing, installing, managing and maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery and processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Spend time on the floor to troubleshoot and correct issues to improve processes with automation projects

2. Troubleshoot and support production equipment using several common systems (PLC, Vision, and SCADA), or other control platforms as required

3. Work with many different aspects of controls, from system definition to design and programming

4. Integrate hardware and software solutions for manufacturing

5. Define necessary capital controls equipment for projects

6. Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex, etc.)

7. PLC programing Languages and HMI systems used (Allen Bradley)

8. Experience designing and creating electrical prints

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

1. Support daily needs of Production in the event of machine downtime

2. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude

3. A team-based and creative approach to problem solving

4. Experience with interpreting a customer’s specification and translating it into design

5. Experience with database applications, such as SQL Database is a plus

6. Experience with SCADA systems (Ignition) is a plus

7. Manage multiple projects/programs at one time

8. Demonstrate ability to lead by mentoring and teaching technical teammates, and apprentices as needed

9. Lead continuous improvement projects with the engineering team

Education & Experience:

1. High School Diploma

2. A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with mechanical aptitude/experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Controls Engineering with automation training/experience; or 15+ years of experience in Automation/Controls

3. At least 3-5 or more years of experience in Automation / Controls Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering with controls experience

Preferred Experience:

1. 10+ years of manufacturing controls and integration experience

2. Be versatile in multiple platforms or circuitry and programming languages

3. Experience with multiple programming software platforms for PLC, Vision, Robotics, and Servo Actuators

4. Rockwell Automation integrators certification

5. Experiences in Electronics sensors and test equipment

Salary Range - 75,200 to 100,300
