About the Organizations:

The Autonomous Vehicle (AV) organization is dedicated to advancing the development of autonomous vehicles throughcutting-edgesimulation technologies and novel iterative development processes.The Software Validation organization holds end-to-end accountability for every capability and feature spanning the autonomy software system.The SAFE-ADS teamis responsible forinternal and external Safety Assuranceprocesses, claims,accumulation of evidence,reportingand response to inquiriesfor GMs Automated Driving Systems.

The Role

In thisTechnical Program Manager (TPM)position,youwill play a critical roleat the interfacebetweentheAutonomous Vehicle (AV)Software Validation team andtheSafety Assurance for Effective Autonomous Driving Software(SAFE-ADS)teamwithinGM’sGlobal Product Safety, Systems and Certificationorganization.You willwork cross-functionallytodevelopindustry leadingAVquantificationmethods,scalethemin softwarefornear-termAVprogramvalidationas well asto providelong termGMAVsafety monitoring,reportingand incident response.You willworkcross functionallytointegrate workstreams,define clear milestones, de-risk dependencies,drivealignment,and executeprojects efficiently.

The ideal candidate is both technical and execution-driven, builds trust and confidence with partners quickly,andhas experience insafety andAV software verification and validation.

What You'll Do

  • LeadTPM executionforvalidation metricsdevelopmentandimplementation,includinghuman benchmarking, and counterfactual modeling.Thisalso includesscaling strategy.

  • Partner withAV safety,software validation systems engineering, and other cross functionaltechnical leadstotranslateengineering work intoproject definitions, roadmaps, timelines, resourcing, and cost plans to efficiently execute program milestones.

  • Drive execution, risk management, and governancefor critical-path projects, enterprise safety initiatives, and incident response by proactivelyidentifyingand mitigating technical/program risks, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders,definingand trackingKPIs and validation milestones, and leadingprogram reviewswith technical and executive leaders.

  • Responsibilitiesalsoincludefacilitatingstandards and best-practice synthesis, external collaborations, data collection campaigns, engineering and computational model development, metric design, and scaling models/metrics/targets via cross-functional cloud-based pipelines andinteractivevisualizations.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • BS or MS inMechanical Engineering, Computer Science,VehicleEngineeringor a related technical field

  • 8+ years ofengineeringexperience with a minimum of 3 years oftechnical program management experience

  • Demonstrated experience in cloud-based data storage and data processing, including optimization forcontinuous availability,speed, and cost.

  • A track recordof successfully managing technically complex, cross-functional programsin development and scaling to production

  • Strong systems thinking with ability to expose and mitigate risks

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of switching between high-level leadership summaries and detailed technical discussions

  • Ability to adapt andoperateunder ambiguity

  • Familiarityintegratingagileprogram deliveryand waterfall method-Jira, Confluence,Smartsheet, and technical development workflows

What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)

  • 3+ years of TPM emphasizing safety critical technical systems

  • Demonstrated experience inAI/ML, robotics, or autonomous systems

  • Experience in safety critical technical systems

  • Exposure to verifying and validating software and systems

  • Ability to develop, inspire and motivate team

**Company Vehicle:**Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. Note: program participants are required to purchase/lease a qualifying GM vehicle every four years unless one of a limited number of exceptions applies.

**Compensation:**The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.

  • The salary range for this role is $159,400 to $245,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
