At Sunday, we're developing personal robots to reclaim the hours lost to repetitive tasks. We're focused on an ambitious goal to make generalized robots broadly accessible, enabling households to take back quality time.

We have spent the last 18 months building a talented team, securing capital, and validating our technology. We are now seeking passionate individuals to join us in the next phase of our growth. If you are ready to apply your skills to the forefront of robotics innovation, we’d love to hear from you.

What To Expect

As a Software Engineer, Robot Interfaces, you will use cutting edge techniques to connect our users with core robotic and AI systems. Leveraging machine learning across local and cloud compute, you will transform raw audio and video signals into actionable instructions in a domestic environment.

What You’ll Do

Audio Engineering: Use the latest algorithms to interpret and produce audio signals that drive our voice interactions with users

Human Interaction: Translate raw signals into actionable intelligence for high level AI decision making and planning

Engineer for Production: Design systems that are optimized for domestic environments and effortlessly balance network reliability, system performance, and deployment cost

Product Shipping: Drive platform development toward our in-home Beta deployments by building robust, self-contained, incremental deliveries that fulfill the “Sunday” promise.

What You’ll Bring

  • Voice Communication: 2+ years experience developing voice-driven experiences (STT, TTS)

  • Artificial Intelligence: 3+ years experience developing responsive AI in robotics, games, or embodied AI.

  • Robotics Experience: You’ve worked on systems that are compute constrained, react quickly to inputs, and debugged problems that cut across hardware and software

  • Frontier Thinking: Familiarity with the latest in multimodal model research (VLMs, VLAs) and an understanding of how to apply them to real-world robotics.

Nice To Have

  • Experience as a founding or early hire; able to define a release roadmap where no blueprint exists.

  • Practical experience (or high curiosity) in deploying multimodal models to physical hardware.

  • Publications in multimodal models, audio interpretation, or robotics.

At Sunday Robotics, we’re building technology shaped by real people — curious, creative, and diverse. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and consider all qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.

Even if you don’t meet every single requirement, we encourage you to apply. Studies show that women and underrepresented groups often hold back unless they meet 100% of the criteria — we don’t want that to be the reason we miss out on great talent.

Sunday Robotics

Privately Held
Consumer & Home RoboticsRobotics Software & AI

Sunday Robotics is a Silicon Valley-based startup founded in April 2024 by Tony Zhao and Cheng Chi. The company focuses on developing Memo, a fully autonomous wheeled home robot designed to handle repetitive household chores, allowing users to reclaim their time. Sunday emerged from stealth in November 2025, securing $35 million in funding and employing a team of over 30 engineers, designers, and researchers dedicated to turning academic robotics research into practical products. Memo is the flagship product, featuring a soft, wipeable design with Lego-like hands and a silicone shell for safety. It autonomously performs tasks such as loading dishwashers, clearing tables, and making espresso, operating continuously without the need for teleoperation. The robot learns and improves through imitation learning and has access to an expanding Skill Library. Sunday also utilizes innovative technology like the Skill Capture Glove™, which captures data on human hand movements to enhance Memo's capabilities. The company aims to make Memo accessible to busy households, with a beta program set to launch in late 2026.
