Job Purpose:
Provide reactive, proactive and preventative engineering support to the site manufacturing operation, delivering optimum plant availability and reliability through the execution of the asset maintenance strategy and improvement programme.
Salary:
49 803,74 (including shift allowance)
Responsibilities
Shift Technicians are expected to be flexible in their approach to work to support business needs. This list is not exhaustive:
- Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance and inspections using Electrical, Control System and Mechanical Engineering skills
- Support site Reliability agenda: Identification of failure modes and trends, leading and completing root cause analysis (RCA) for Engineering losses, driving and delivering RCA actions.
- Proactive & logical fault prevention along with continuous improvement activity to deliver the sites key KPIs.
- Support and coaching of the FL teams (GO, MT) to develop their technical and problem-solving skills.
- Provide support to site Project and Change Initiatives as required.
- Issue PTWs as required to support operational and corrective activities
- Contractor Control: Support site contractor activity through issuing Permit to Works and review of risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- Documenting and executing detailed handovers between shifts Documenting detailed work reports in CMMS (SAP) to allow for detailed fault analysis and improvement workstreams to be identified
- Activities will include working at Height, Confined spaces, Hot work, Fire investigation/Incident support
Decision-making authority:
- Ability to manage and prioritise workloads to support business needs.
- Shift contact with line manager
Job Dimensions:
- Able to raise Purchase Requisitions and order spares from stores.
- No direct reports, however, strong Coaching and development of FL team will be required.
Qualifications
- NVQ L3 or equivalent time served Engineer with proven hands-on experience. - Essential
- HNC qualification or equivalent experience. Electrical/Mechanical
- Recognised Electrical Qualification or working towards (Pepsico Level 3 equivalent), ie 18th edition (not essential) - Desirable
- Strong Electro-Mechanical aptitude is essential.
- Working knowledge of PLC systems - Allen Bradley and/or Siemens an advantage. - Desirable
- Experience within a FMCG or high-volume continuous production environment.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, incorporating data analysis and trending
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems and the associated applications
- Working knowledge of SCADA systems and the associated applications
- Computer literate (Word, excel, etc).
- Excellent influencing, coaching, communication and decision-making skills.
- Strong team player who demonstrates a continuous improvement approach.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workloads to support business needs.
- Requirement to remain calm in pressurised breakdown environments
