PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Senior R&D Engineer will be a key member of the Research and Development department, responsible for the design, development, qualification, and implementation of electronic hardware and embedded software projects. The role requires ensuring all designs meet customer specifications, company standards, and global regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Research and Development:
- Perform research, design, development, integration, and testing of hardware and embedded software for new products.
- Ensure compliance with company design processes and international regulatory design standards.
Design Review and Collaboration:
- Lead and participate in design review sessions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external technology partners to achieve project objectives.
Production and Manufacturing Support:
- Prepare production data packs and set-to-work new hardware.
- Enhance the manufacturability of products in development and production.
- Define test parameters for production testing.
- Test fixture integration.
Debugging and Problem Solving:
- Debug and correct issues in hardware and software for both new and existing products.
- Provide troubleshooting support to resolve technical challenges efficiently.
Certification and Testing:
- Develop and execute testing procedures for product certification and high-volume production readiness.
- Ensure products meet all required standards and certifications.
Technical Documentation:
- Draft comprehensive technical documentation, including manuals, specifications, and reports.
Stakeholder Support:
- Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders, including sales, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in electronic hardware and embedded software design and development.
- Expertise in embedded C or similar languages for microcontroller development.
- Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS & Zephyr).
- Knowledge of RF technologies and IoT product development.
- Proficiency in ECAD tools, particularly Altium, for schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Strong understanding of EMC design considerations and signal/power integrity analysis.
- Familiarity with ARM and PIC processors for firmware development.
- Basic mechanical design knowledge and 3D prototyping skills.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills for hardware and software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with various stakeholders.
