Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Power system studies

Location: Mumbai

Employment Type: full-time

The job

We are looking for an electrical engineer who is passionate about the field of electrical engineering and has strong academic and practical knowledge of various aspects of power system studies

Key responsibilities

As an electrical engineer with power system consulting, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, motor start, transient*stability, relay coordination, arc flash, harmonic analysis, electromagnetic interferencestudies, electromagnetic switching transient (insulation coordination studies), tractionsimulation studies, renewable energy system studies and many more using ETAP,*PSCAD, CDEGS, PLSCAD, ETRAX software etc.
  • *Designing and reviewing electrical systems, including power distribution systems,*industrial control systems, and renewable energy systems.
  • Troubleshooting electrical tripping, site incidents, failures etc. and providing technical**support to customers and clients.
  • Providing solutions and recommendations for power system design, operation, and**optimization based on the results of the studies.
  • Resolving technical queries raised by the customers/clients on project reports and**providing them with accurate and timely information.
  • Preparing reports and presentations / Workshop based on the project requirements and delivering them to the customers/clients in a professional manner.
  • Providing training to ETAP customers on how to use the software effectively and efficiently.

Essential requirements

To be eligible for this position, you should have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field from a recognized university or institution.
  • Minimum 7 - 9 years of working experience in a similar industry or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in fundamental principles of electrical engineering and knowledge of electrical products and their workings.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in electrical power system studies. These *include Load flow, short circuit, Motor Start, Transient Stability, Relay Co-ordination,*Arc Flash, Harmonic Analysis and Reliability studies.

Desired skills

Electromagnetic switching transient (Insulation co-rdination studies).

  • Also, shall have knowledge/exposure to FACT devices such as SVC, STATCOM, active filters etc., and on grid interconnected battery & energy storage system, grid integrated renewable generation, grid connected inverters, inverter dynamics.
  • Experience of using ETAP/PSCAD software or other similar software for carrying out the power system studies.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills related to creation of reports and presentations in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team.\

It would be preferable if you also have:

  • Knowledge of Python, MATLAB coding etc.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of renewable energy systems.
