JLG is seeking a motivated high school student interested in robotics, automation, and manufacturing processes to join the Robotics Programming team as an apprentice. This hands-on opportunity provides real-world experience in robotic programming, process optimization, and industrial automation within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Robotics Programming & Troubleshooting: Shadow robotics programmers to learn how to create, test, and optimize robotic programs using simulation software.
  • Process Analysis & Improvement: Conduct time studies, process mapping, and layout assessments to enhance fabrication and robotic operations.
  • Safety & Quality Enhancements: Identify and implement tools and strategies to improve workplace safety and product quality.
  • Standard Work Instructions (SWI): Assist in updating SWI documentation to reflect process improvements.
  • Software Proficiency: Gain experience in 2D/3D modeling software (AutoCAD, Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, etc.) and utilize Microsoft Office tools for data analysis and reporting.

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
  • Logical, problem-solving mindset with strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of robotics, welding, and industrial automation.
  • Interest in robotics programming, automation, or a related engineering field—preferably planning to attend college, trade school, or enter the workforce in a robotics or automation role.
