Texas Instruments is seeking an innovative Robotics & Automation Engineer to lead the transformation of our global manufacturing facilities through next-generation robotics and automation systems. This role is critical to establishing and scaling our autonomous operations vision, deploying cutting-edge robotic platforms, and building the intelligent infrastructure needed for Industry 4.0 manufacturing. The position offers the opportunity to drive significant operational improvements while pioneering the future of semiconductor facility management.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in robotics deployment at scale, with proven experience integrating autonomous systems in complex industrial environments. You'll be architecting solutions that span from robotic inspections and autonomous material handling to intelligent facility monitoring, while building the teams and capabilities to support our global manufacturing footprint. This role requires someone who can bridge the technical complexity of robotics with the practical realities of 24/7 semiconductor manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Robotics Strategy & Architecture:
- Define and execute robotics vision for global manufacturing facilities, establishing governance frameworks and multi-year roadmaps
- Architect scalable automation systems including robotic inspections, autonomous material handling, and intelligent monitoring solutions
- Lead evaluation and deployment of robotic platforms (quadrupeds, AMRs, custom solutions) across multiple sites
- Design integration patterns between robotics, IoT systems, and manufacturing execution systems
- Establish ROI models and business cases for automation initiatives
- Deployment & Operations:
- Deploy and scale robotic fleets across global facilities, ensuring reliable 24/7 operations
- Build data pipelines, collection systems, and analytics dashboards for proactive maintenance
- Implement autonomous mobile robot (AMR) programs for material handling and logistics optimization
- Ability to develop custom robotic solutions for specialized facility maintenance tasks
- Infrastructure & Connectivity:
- Design and validate wireless infrastructure for robotics connectivity (private 5G networks, mesh, etc)
- Implement edge computing solutions for real-time robot control and data processing
- Build secure communication frameworks for robot fleet management
- Integrate robotics with existing facility management and SCADA systems
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Build and lead high-performance teams of robotics engineers and technicians
- Develop training programs and certification paths for robotics operations
- Foster partnerships with robotics vendors, research institutions, and technology providers
- Mentor facilities members on robotics technologies and best practices
