Key Responsibilities
Program, modify, and optimize robotic welding programs using teach pendants
Set up and debug robotic MIG welding cells, including robots, weld power supplies, positioners, and fixturing
Support new product launches and engineering changes, including first-article runs
Troubleshoot weld quality issues, robot motion faults, and equipment downtime
Perform changeovers and adjust welding parameters to meet quality and cycle time targets
Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams
Ensure compliance with safety standards, lockout/tagout, and robot cell safety requirements
Maintain accurate documentation for programs, setups, and process changes
Support continuous improvement efforts related to uptime, quality, and productivity
Required Qualifications
3+ years of hands-on experience with robotic welding systems
Experience programming robots using teach pendants
Solid understanding of robotic MIG welding processes and weld parameters
Ability to read and interpret prints, weld symbols, and basic GD&T
Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and process issues
Willingness to work on the shop floor and support production as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Panasonic and/or Fanuc robotic welding systems
Experience in a high-mix / low-volume manufacturing environment
Familiarity with welding power supplies, wire feeders, and torch maintenance
Basic PLC or I/O troubleshooting experience
Offline programming or simulation experience (a plus, not required)
Welding certification or formal robotics training
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to welding fumes, noise, and industrial equipment
Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs as required
PPE required per plant safety standards
