Overview
The Business Pilot is responsible for managing automation projects within the industrial perimeter, ensuring compliance with Expleo standards and guiding projects through all phases from preliminary design to final acceptance. This role requires strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to coordinate suppliers, stakeholders, and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Equipment Study Phase (Engineering & Technical Validation)
Objective: Ensure complete and validated technical documentation before project realization.
Review and document the existing equipment and automation setup.
Prepare the technical specification sheet / RFQ inline inconsideration of the inputs.
Define and validate technical deliverables based on project specifications.
Review supplier engineering documents including:
Risk Analysis
Sistema safety calculations
Functional and organic analyses
Electrical schematics
Equipment documentation
Component selection
Simulation models
Test procedures
Spare parts lists
Project schedules
Perform technical document verification based on supplier self-check reports.
Ensure supplier safety training and compliance documentation are validated.
Prepare and track technical exemption and referencing requests.
Contact potential suppliers and discuss and explain the content in the RFQ and prepare techno commercial synopsis document to be submitted to purchase.
Coordinate with Purchase team and support as need to bring scope clarity.
Realization Phase (Supplier Manufacturing Support)
Objective: Ensure supplier manufacturing, documentation, and testing comply with project requirements.
Track closure of non-conformities from previous project phases.
Monitor project schedules and supplier progress remotely.
Review electrical realization documentation, including:
Control panels
Electrical wiring diagrams
Cabinet layouts
Validate PLC safety programming documentation and parameter configuration.
Review functional analysis (AF), organic analysis (AO), and operator manuals.
Validate test procedures and test reports according to project standards.
Verify platform tests, cabinet simulations, and machine test documentation.
Review and validate updated risk analysis and safety documentation.
Installation Phase Support (Remote Coordination)
Objective: Provide remote technical support to ensure smooth equipment installation and compliance.
- Monitor resolution of open technical issues and non-conformities.
- Support onsite teams through remote technical coordination.
- Review supplier installation documentation and electrical assembly reports.
- Coordinate with onsite engineers for electrical installation progress and issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with project safety and technical standards.
Qualifications
Graduate in Engineering Disciplines Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering with minimum 5 7 years of relevant experience
Essential skills
Should have the basic understanding of programmable logic controllers,
Should aware of industry standards and practices (e.g., ISA standards) that apply to control system design.
Should have firm and increasing understanding of process control concepts and techniques.
Should understand networking devices & components like ethernet switches, Fiber optic switches,firewalls etc.,
Should understand the various industrial communication protocols like Modbus, Profibus, HART, FF etc.,
Should have good communication skills.
Attitude to Works effectively as individual & in team environment and shall be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Technologies:
- PLC: Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi.
Robotics: FANUC
Technical Skills
PLC programming knowledge: Siemens / Rockwell
Industrial robotics knowledge: FANUC
Ability to review:
