About this Job

Give Our Robots Consciousness

Physical AI can't be trained on internet data alone. Robots need to learn skills in the real world — by observing, interacting with, and operating in real environments. That's the idea behind NEURA Gym: a global network of physical training centers where robots learn industrial tasks/skills directly from experienced human operators/ the people who know these processes inside out.

As Physical AI Data Operations Expert, you’ll work side by side with our data operators, our robots, and our customers and keep the NEURAGym, our data production factory, up and running.

Your mission & challenges

  • Be the first point of contact for the data operators and data operator interns who teleoperate our robots during your shift. Train, support, and encourage support the data operators staff to produce highest quality data.

  • Enable our customers: translate complex technical concepts in easy to understand trainings. Compile onboarding material, organize workshops for our customers and enable our customer teams to act autonomously. Be the first point of contact with technical questions.

  • Adapt and debug the robotics software stack to ensure and continuously improve Gym operations. You understand robotics fundamentals such as drive control, fieldbus communications, and kinematics.

  • You are familiar with unixiod real-time operating systems including low-latency networking (UDP, DDS), programming (Python/C++) and related best practices (version control, CI/CD). You are fluent with containerized software distribution and deployment workflows.

  • Be the bridge between the Gym staff and Neura’s Research & Development and service departments.

  • Set up and calibrate the tele operations toolchain and instruct both internal colleagues and customers in its use. Configure all necessary IT components (e.g., sensors such as cameras and depth sensors, data recording stations, network-setup), in NEURA's and customers’ Gyms and ensure they meet the requirements for long-term reliable operation.

  • Understand the end to end data flow in the Gym, starting with the initial capture on various sensors, caching, synchronizing and annotating the data until it is uploaded into our cloud infrastructure. You ensure the required data integrity and transport latency.

What we can look forward to

  • Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

  • Strong organizational skills and a structured approach to problem-solving.

  • Practical experience with multi sensor setups incl. calibration and synchronization

  • Hands-on-mentality: you like working with hardware, are not shy to to pick a screw driver and a soldering iron

  • Solid understanding of Data Collection and Data Engineering, in particular in the context of Imitation Learning, Robot Learning or Computer Vision

  • Programming experience with C++ and Python, as well as experience with Embedded Computing, real-time operating systems, and networking stacks (knowledge of EtherCAT is a plus)

  • Experience with robotics, AI, automation, or emerging technologies

  • Fluent in English; German is highly beneficial.
