Thales Engineering Competence Centre (ECC) is a well-established Research and Engineering centre serving major customers worldwide in Digital Identity and Security domains spanning from Mobile Connectivity, IoT, Automotive, Banking to Government products and solutions.
As a Hardware Intern, you will join our expanding team to support the design, development and testing of hardware tools such as smart card readers, chip boards and analog signal measurement setups used for secure UICC applications in mobile and IoT devices.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in hardware design activities such as schematic updates and PCB layout support;
- Support hardware testing, measurements and debugging using engineering lab equipment;
- Help analyze electronic circuits and investigate hardware issues;
- Assist in board bring-up, verification and troubleshooting activities;
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of in-house readers and hardware tools;
- Prepare test records, reports and engineering documentation;
- Participate in technical discussions, design reviews and knowledge sharing sessions.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar technical field;
- Basic understanding of analog and digital electronics;
- Familiarity with oscilloscope, multimeter or other lab equipment is an advantage;
- Exposure to schematic capture or PCB design tools is a plus;
- Basic knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers or communication interfaces such as UART, I2C or SPI is an advantage;
- Basic programming knowledge in C/C++ or Python is a plus;
- Willingness to learn, good problem-solving ability and good team spirit
