About this Job
About Us
At CosmoChute, we are building modular, reusable lunar robotics infrastructure for long-duration planetary operations. Our systems combine mobility, modular payload deployment, survivability through lunar nights, and repair ability to make sustained presence on the Moon economically viable. We’re a deeply technical, fast-moving team that believes in real ownership, real trust and in creating an environment where your best work matters.
If you want to work on hardware that will one day operate on the moon, this is the role.
Your Role
We're looking for a Graduate GNC Engineer to join our core engineering team. This is an early-career role for someone with strong mathematical foundations, a curiosity for autonomous systems, and the drive to grow quickly in a technically demanding environment. You'll work directly alongside senior engineers on state estimation, control systems, and simulation, on a rover that has to navigate autonomously in an environment where GPS doesn't exist and the ground can't intervene in real time.
Your Responsibilities
Support the development and testing of GNC algorithms for lunar surface navigation
Assist with sensor fusion pipelines integrating IMU, camera, and wheel odometry data
Build and maintain simulation environments for algorithm development and validation
Support SIL and HIL test campaigns under the guidance of senior engineers
Contribute to GNC documentations
Work closely with avionics and embedded software engineers on real-time algorithm implementation
Requirements
Must have
Strong interests in control theory, estimation, and linear algebra
Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink or Python for algorithm development and simulation
Genuine interest in autonomous systems, robotics, or spacecraft GNC
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Good to have
Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Academic or project experience with Kalman filtering, SLAM, control system design, or any GNC implementation
Familiarity with ROS or ROS2 in a robotics context
Exposure to computer vision or vision-based navigation
Final year project or thesis in GNC, autonomous systems, or a space-adjacent domain
Participation in student rocketry, rover, or autonomous vehicle teams
What we deeply value
Curiosity and ownership
Ability to learn quickly across disciplines
Practical engineering judgment and first principles thinking
Profound mutual respect among co-workers
Strong grit towards troubleshooting and iterative development
Cross-disciplinary thinking and collaboration
Benefits
Competitive compensation
Performance based equity participation
Meaningful long-term growth potential
Complete honesty with only legally required abstractions
