Functional Safety Engineer

AVL Research and Engineering Turkey is a member of the AVL Group with more than 11.000 employees working worldwide on the development of vehicle powertrains, controls, software, instrumentation and test systems. We are looking for a highly qualified and talented Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join our team in our R&D Centers in Istanbul.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • •Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Automotive / Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Control Engineering, and preferably Master’s and/or PhD qualifications

  • •Minimum 1+ years of relevant professional experience

  • •Fluent speaking and excellent writing skills in English

  • •Fast learner, treats change as an opportunity to learn and develop

  • •Good communication, presentation and planning skills

  • •Willingness to frequent and long-term travel abroad

And a good understanding of at least two of the following topics:

  • •Hybrid Electric Vehicles and their EE sub-systems and components

  • •Automotive powertrains (Engine, Transmissions, Batteries, Electric Machines and Power Electronics)

  • •System Dynamics & Modelling, Controller Algorithm Design and Implementation

  • •MATLAB/Simulink, dSPACE/ETAS Tools, HiL Simulators

  • •ISO 26262, IEC 61508 and similar standards

  • •Requirements and/or quality management

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES;

  • •Hazard Analysis, Risk Assessment, drafting of functional safety concepts, safety analyses (e.g., FMEA, FTA)

  • •Knowledge Technical Safety Concept, Functional Safety Management Activities

  • •Planning, coordination and implementation of functional safety relevant activities in customer projects from specification to validation

  • •Specification of requirements for safety-relevant functionalities

  • •Fundamental Knowledge on Model-based algorithm/SW development in MATLAB/Simulink environment

  • •Fundamental Knowledge on Test case development and systematic MiL/SiL/HiL testing at different levels

  • •Documentation and presentation of results

  • •Attending technical review meetings
