Field Service Technician II - this position is based in Cambridge, Ontario CANADA

Job Summary:

Field Service Technician II performs all duties of FST I and provides advanced technical and diagnostic programming, technical support, troubleshooting, repair, refurbishment, and emergency service for Kawasaki robots.

Core Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment is installed and commissioned safely, reliably, and within the time & budget constraints.
  • Working knowledge of PLC communication and other ancillary equipment.
  • Knowledge of robotics work cell and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and process issues & repair mechanical and electronic Kawasaki robots.
  • Ability to lead team of technicians at customer facilities and conduct informal training of engineers, skilled trades & operators in electrical & mechanical applications, operations, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Effectively communicate with design engineering, application engineering, training, administration and customers.
  • Generate detailed & accurate work order closing documentation and provide necessary details to generate quotes.
  • Participate in 24/7 phone support rotation, providing troubleshooting support for customers.
  • Complete and provide accurate, detailed expenses for invoicing.
  • Ensure work is completed within designated timeframe & budget requirements per work order or quote.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on customer robots.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

**a.**Required

  • Associates degree or equivalent of 3+ years of technical repair experience related to robotics or automation
  • Proven mechanical & electrical aptitude
  • Experience in troubleshooting electrical, controls and safety circuitry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Committed to environmental health and safety policies and procedures
  • Excellent organizational & time management skills

b. Preferred

  • Experience with robot programming, automation integration, paint or sealer robotics and Vision

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 55 pounds unassisted
  • Able to stand, kneel, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
  • Ability to travel domestically & internationally for up to two-week increments
  • Attendance is a requirement of this position
