We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to be based in either Northern Illinois/Wisconsin or Texas, however available to travel nationally and/or Canada up to 70%. We offer the opportunity to experience the excitement, challenge and rewards of working for an industry-leading company where you will be challenged to troubleshoot, repair and test products in the field or remotely. You'll work on a wide range of locations and learn to maintain all of our product lines, providing technical assistance pertaining to low voltage variable frequency drives and motion control products with a primary emphasis on medium voltage products. Through service calls you will advise and train customers including importers, dealers, and end users, increase sales and image of Yaskawa products as well as improve company-wide service capabilities. Job impact is measured by the timely result of putting a down system back in production. You will work outside in various types of environmental conditions.
You should have BSEE or BSEET or equivalent work experience servicing automation products, including variable frequency drives, motion control products, PLCs and HMIs. Additionally, experience with medium voltage, power distribution (2.3kV to 15kV), electronic test equipment and diagnose electronic circuits, as well as computer skills, preferably with Autocad experience.
New hire training will occur in Franklin, WI; depending on experience and product knowledge, may be up to two months.
