As a Repair Technician for Yaskawa Americas Inc., you will leverage your electronic/electromechanical knowledge to prepares diagnostic quotations and estimates on repairs based on established Policies / Procedures. Initiates requests for repair supplies and materials. May service or calibrate departmental electronic test equipment.
Description of Duties:
- Completes scheduled repairs or put into parts hold / information hold by following established Repair and SAP Procedures.
- Determine which parts are needed by performing a quote; clean, repair, and test the parts.
- Reports about completed exchange Rushes to requested parties via e-mail.
- Determine if part is cost effective to repair or if the item should be scrapped based on parts and labor time.
- Write a detailed memo in the service order describing the work performed; parts replaced, tests performed.
- Provide Master Scheduler with daily updates of schedule conflicts and completion of rush orders.
- Design and build the necessary test fixtures to fully test defective parts in a more efficient manner.
- Maintain all test fixtures and test units such as motors, drives, and PC Boards as needed.
- Assist or provide product training to Repair Technicians.
- Provides technical assistants for Technicians, including help in troubleshooting, resolves some questions and problems, etc.
- Returns completed repairs to the warehouse staging area for shipping / restock.
- Performs modifications and ECO changes to parts and equipment as required for good customer support.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related work experience. Will accept students pursuing degree or technical certifications.
- Min 1+ years experience in electronic / electro-mechanical repair and troubleshooting ideal.
- Experience with high power circuits preferred.
- Ability to read and use schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Must be PC literate.
- Ability to speak, write and read English.
- Physical certification by company appointed doctor, able to lift up to 40 lbs.
