Job Overview

As an Engineering Technician, you'll play a key role in supporting RD projects and collaborating withcross-functional portfolio teams. You'll be involved in the end-to-end development of hardwareprototypes, contributing to the design and assembly of PCB, mechanical components, and softwarescripts. Your work will include conducting tests and experiments that drive development towardmanufacturing readiness, while maintaining thorough documentation and process records to track testdata and results. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where collaboration is at the heart ofeverything we do. You'll have opportunities to explore a variety of projects and engage with a talentedteam of engineers to share knowledge and expertise.

Essential Functions

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues to identify faulty components
  • Conduct troubleshooting for both electrical and mechanical systems to ensure optimalperformance
  • Use oscilloscopes and digital multimeters (DMM) to thoroughly test Systems
  • Solder wire harnesses and making cables based on minimal documentation
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical challenges, contributing to project success.
  • Configuration, troubleshooting, data analysis, and integration of a wide variety of applications andequipment such as (GPS receivers, LiDAR sensors, Inertial sensors, network routers, radiomodems, meteorological sensors, serial port hubs, etc.)
  • Execute software configuration checks and validate system build states using Ground ControlStation (GCS) tools and Mission Planning Software as directed.
  • Work with Arduino (or Equivalent) for micro controllers
  • Work with raspberry Pi’s (or Equivalent) for different platforms and products
  • Perform software test and debugging with engineering support.
  • Contribute to the design, assembly, and testing of UAV frames for advanced projects.
  • Implement and uphold 5S methodology to streamline workflows and develop efficient leanprocesses.
  • Meticulously document testing procedures and data to ensure accuracy and support repeatabilityin future projects.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate the testing, completion, and optimization ofcomponents.
  • Assist in building and setting up platforms for both testing and event execution, ensuringfunctionality and safety.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of engineering andproject goals.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing team to help push products to delivery
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Solid knowledge of Electrical and Aircraft Systems
  • Knowledge of power and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of UAV and CUAV
  • Knowledge of Mission Planner Software (or Equivalent UAS software)
  • Knowledge of Mission Planner Software (or Equivalent UAS software)
  • Knowledge of uploading GCS parameters/ settings
  • Knowledge any software coding/ scripting (Lynx, C++, TTL)
  • Knowledge on Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Power point, ect.)
  • Understanding of Electrical equipment (O-Scopes, DMM)
  • Ability to understand cable drawings
  • Collaborates effectively within teams and builds strong working relationships
  • Quickly adapts and learns new skills
  • Works productively under supervision

Education / Certifications

  • Associate degree in engineering or technical field preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience as an engineering technician or other relevant technical field
  • Equivalent documented work experience in lieu of degree may be acceptable
  • Experience with:
  • Altium PCB layout software
  • Cable wiring for RC planes
  • Understanding Gas engines
  • Understanding electrical motors
  • Mission Planner software
  • Electrical testing equipment
