About this Job
[What the role is]
[LTA-T&ID] DEPUTY/ASSISTANT MANAGER, AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE POLICY & REGULATION
[What you will be working on]
At the Centre for Autonomous Mobility (CAM), we lead Singapore's national strategy to integrate autonomous vehicles (AVs) into our transport ecosystem. As Singapore targets large-scale AV deployment, we're seeking a driven professional to build the regulatory foundation that will enable safe, efficient autonomous vehicle operations on our roads.
You will craft primary legislation whilst simultaneously developing the operational infrastructure including authorisation frameworks, safety protocols, and compliance guidelines that will govern AV deployment on public roads.
Legislative & Policy Development You'll research and propose recommendations to draft critical sections of AV legislation, ensuring Singapore's regulatory framework remains globally competitive. This involves monitoring international regulatory developments, conducting regulatory impact assessments, and articulating the policy trade-offs inherent in different regulatory approaches to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Operational Framework Design You'll work with the team to architect and oversee the complete authorisation workflow for AV operators, from initial application through ongoing compliance monitoring. This includes establishing robust data governance protocols, incident reporting mechanisms, and developing comprehensive audit frameworks that ensure regulatory adherence whilst fostering innovation.
Stakeholder Engagement You'll support consultation processes with industry players, academic institutions, and international partners, synthesising diverse perspectives into coherent policy recommendations.
[What we are looking for]
- Knowledge in Law, Public Policy, Business, or Arts and Social Sciences. Knowledge in Engineering, Technology Management, or related technical fields will be particularly valued.
- At least 2 years substantive experience in regulatory affairs, policy development, or technology governance, ideally within transport, automotive, or emerging technology sectors.
- Experience designing administrative processes such as licensing regimes, permit systems, or compliance frameworks from inception is highly desirable. You're comfortable interpreting technical standards and ensuring regulatory alignment with safety requirements.
- Possess exceptional communication skills honed through cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management.
- Proactive, results-oriented approach to deliver high-quality outcomes under demanding timelines.
- Possess strong writing and presentation abilities, meticulous and analytical.
As part of the shortlisting process for the role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and /or undergo further assessment.
