About this Job

The Robotics Platform Programme Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and governance of an enterprise robotics platform and framework that enables IT-based robotic and automation solutions across facilities management, infrastructure, and building security domains.

The role focuses on building reusable platform capabilities, standards, and integration patterns that solution teams can leverage to rapidly develop, deploy, and scale robotics-enabled applications. This position owns the platform roadmap, delivery governance, and enablement model, ensuring the robotics platform is robust, secure, scalable, and aligned with organisational objectives.

This is a programme-level role, accountable for multiple workstreams and long-term capability development, rather than direct ownership of individual operational deployments.

Platform Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and manage the enterprise robotics platform roadmap, covering core framework capabilities, tooling, and enablement milestones.

  • Establish the strategic direction for robotics platform development in alignment with organisational digital and automation strategies.

  • Identify and prioritise platform capabilities required to support IT-based robotics solutions across facilities, infrastructure, and security use cases.

Platform Architecture & Framework Development

  • Oversee the design and evolution of the robotics platform architecture, including integration patterns, APIs, orchestration, and control frameworks.

  • Define standards, guidelines, and reference architectures to ensure consistency, reusability, and interoperability across solutions built on the platform.

  • Ensure the platform supports secure integration with enterprise IT systems, operational technologies, and data platforms.

Programme Delivery & Governance

  • Manage multiple platform-related workstreams, including framework development, pilots, tooling, and enablement initiatives.

  • Establish programme governance, reporting, and decision-making structures.

  • Track progress, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks across the robotics platform programme lifecycle.

Enablement & Adoption

  • Enable internal teams and partners to build solutions using the robotics platform through documentation, onboarding, and reference implementations.

  • Work with solution owners to ensure platform capabilities meet real-world use case requirements.

  • Drive adoption of the platform while maintaining architectural integrity and standards compliance.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage technology vendors, system integrators, and solution partners contributing to the robotics platform ecosystem.

  • Oversee contracts, delivery performance, and alignment with platform objectives.

  • Evaluate emerging robotics and automation technologies for potential inclusion into the platform roadmap.

Risk, Security & Compliance

  • Ensure platform design and implementation comply with cybersecurity, data protection, safety, and regulatory requirements.

  • Identify and manage risks associated with platform scalability, reliability, and integration into operational environments.

  • Embed security-by-design and safety-by-design principles into the robotics platform framework.

Value Realisation & Continuous Improvement

  • Define success metrics for the robotics platform, including reuse, adoption, delivery efficiency, and scalability.

  • Track benefits realisation and ensure the platform delivers tangible value to solution teams and the organisation.

  • Continuously refine the platform based on feedback, performance data, and evolving organisational needs.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 8–12 years of experience in programme management, platform delivery, automation, robotics, or large-scale IT systems.

  • Strong understanding of robotics and automation frameworks, system integration, IT, and Operational Technology convergence.

  • Proven experience managing multi-stream programmes involving platform or framework development.

  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Enterprise platform and framework delivery

  • Programme and portfolio management

  • Systems integration and architecture governance

  • Vendor and ecosystem management

  • Risk, security, and compliance management

  • Strategic thinking with strong execution discipline
