BMG Automation & Robotics Supervisor (multiple positions) - Houston, TX  

LOCATION: Houston - Texas  - USA

Position:  BMG Automation & Robotics Supervisor (multiple positions)

Location: Houston, TX

MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Ensure automation and robotic systems across the Industrial Facility are operating at standard performance.
  • Conduct availability, reliability, maintainability analysis in the following systems: Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)/Level 1; Robotic cells and Vision systems; HMIs; Investors, digital drives; Industrial networks; and Level 2 systems.
  • Ensure prompt correction of unsafe conditions and promote safe behaviors in the personnel in the area of responsibility.
  • Record promptly (per procedure) all safety/environmental events and activities in the official Safety and Environmental System (TSE).
  • Perform failure and root cause analysis, focusing on the maintenance of significant failures.
  • Program the necessary maintenance activities in Plant Maintenance (PM) Days and Extraordinary Repairs (REX) to achieve the maintenance performance goals and determine, according to inspection plans, maintenance plans, master plans, and failures/root cause analysis, action plans.
  • Plan and execute PM Plant Maintenance days in the area under the BMG responsibility.
  • Plan and execute REX.
  • Act as a technical reference among operational team and actively participate and collaborate with Production teams in increasing performance indicators (Quality rejects, CTT, CTR, Changeovers, Operative interruption); and Participate in Continuous Improvement Groups (CIG) encouraging and motivating team participation.
  • Must be available on nights and weekends in case of emergency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or closely related field
  • Two (2) years of experience in a related occupation in the steel manufacturing industry performing each of the following: maintenance, safety, and programming of automation, control, and robotic systems; PLC programming on Rockwell, Siemens or equivalent PLC; automation system integration and testing; HMI programming; performing failure and root cause analysis for equipment malfunctions; developing and implementing safety plans including PIN-Plans and Environmental plans; installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and troubleshooting electrical problems.

Special Requirement: Up to 5% domestic and 5% international travel required.
