Automation Technician II

Job Summary Under the direction of the Maintenance and Automation Manager, the Level 2 Automation Technician is responsible for HellermannTyton's specific automated and semi-automated equipment and extraction / placement robots. An AT-2's main focus should be training AT-0, AT-1, and production employees when necessary, identifying and writing procedures and technical documents, handling more complex electrical and mechanical diagnosis, repairs, and adjustments.

Essential Functions

• Performs all AT-1 Essential Functions
• Writes at least two approved standard operating procedures, training documents, or MP2 instructions per year
• Trains department new-hires on proper repairs, changeovers, preventive maintenance (PM), and other duties or programs with the help of departmental technicians as assigned.
• Assists training Process Technicians with automation-related topics when required.
• Able to upload / download programs or firmware on HMIs, PLCs, Star Robots, Printers, etc.
• Able to edit PLCs (Clean up rungs, add or remove rungs, set fault traps) if necessary, without negative repercussions.
• Able to do electrical upgrades and interfacing to automation. (Ex: Upgrading HMI, adding HMIs, upgrading drives, etc.)

Qualifications

• Has completed Mechatronics program, Automation Systems Associates Degree, or 5 years of relevant experience.
• Must have valid drivers license, with acceptable driving record and carry adequate insurance.
