About this Job

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensure contents of type change and change all necessary tooling, including robot grippers; locating fixtures; lathe jaws & stops; gauging tools, cutting tools.

  • Set and or validate tool geometry offsets.

  • Assist Engineers in dry running and proving out CNC programs

  • Assist Engineers in making 1st piece submission for Quality Assurance approval.

  • Ensure all manufacturing and quality process instructions are posted at the production line.

  • Trouble-shoot and repair machine malfunctions.

  • Setup in-line reworked and bolt hole reworked on the drill press, complete Rework Record Sheet and validate reworked parts.

  • Perform alarm & error resetting on all turning line equipment.

  • Assist Engineering in testing new tooling.

  • Maintain change tooling in an orderly fashion.

  • Work with Quality Assurance to resolve quality issues.

  • Set all phasing sensors and Poka Yoke checks.

  • Perform CNC tool replacement, adjustment of all CNC and auxiliary equipment.

  • Train parts loaders and operators. Assist in directing operators and material handlers.

  • Produce, report, and record information relative to production, scrap, and downtime as directed.

  • Confer with and support supervisor in daily activities.

  • Participate in all Lean, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives as directed.

  • Participate in additional training provided by the company. (Training may include, but is not limited to, quality, efficiency, scrap, team building, 5S, and additional leadership related topics.)

  • Implement effective team building skills and enforces safety regulations on the production floor.

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed

    Starting Wage: $20.00

    We offer a 2nd shift differential of $2.00 per hour and 3rd shift differential of $3.00 per hour

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a CNS Setup or Manufacturing Technician in good standing with required duties.
  • Familiar with Fanuc controls.
  • Able to read and understand drawings and CNC programs to determine how part features are generated.
  • Ability to recognize and solve quality issues.
  • Able to interpret Quality reports and make appropriate decisions for adjusting offsets and CNC programs.
  • Proficient at basic shop mathematics. Trigonometry is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of G & M code programming.
  • Must have turning line process knowledge with correct fastener applications. Able to perform turning line Poka Yoke checks.
  • Must pass all written tests required by NTA
  • Must be able to perform all jobs within the department and have advanced knowledge of the following: operation of machinery; CNC lathe and machining center tooling; tool/insert changes; inspection equipment; part numbers; identification markings; product quality; scrap identification and reporting; production efficiency requirements.
