About this Job
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Turbomachinery (TMC) Project Manager to lead the successful execution of turbomachinery control system projects for our customers in the oil & gas, power generation, and refining industries. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliable, on-time, and on-budget delivery of critical control solutions for gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, and related rotating equipment.
As the TMC Project Manager, you will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and design through to commissioning and customer acceptance. You will serve as the primary technical and project management leader, driving collaboration between our internal engineering teams, customers, OEMs, and third-party vendors to deliver world-class turbomachinery control solutions.
This is a leadership role that requires a unique blend of deep technical expertise in turbomachinery control systems, combined with proven project management discipline and exceptional customer-facing skills. You will be a key member of our North America delivery team, based in our Webster, TX office, and will play a critical role in upholding Schneider Electric's reputation for reliability, performance, and innovation in the turbomachinery space.
Location: Ability to work onsite at our Webster, TX office.
What will you do:
Project Leadership and Execution:
- Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of multiple turbomachinery control system projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and communication strategies.
- Oversee all project phases, from front-end engineering design (FEED) and detailed design to factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning.
- Ensure project deliverables meet Schneider Electric's rigorous quality standards and comply with industry best practices and customer specifications.
Technical Leadership and TMC Expertise:
- Serve as the primary technical authority on turbomachinery control systems for both internal teams and customers.
- Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring solutions are designed and implemented to meet customer performance and reliability requirements.
- Lead technical reviews, design workshops, and customer alignment sessions to ensure control system solutions meet operational objectives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to TMC hardware, software, instrumentation, and system integration.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in turbomachinery control and monitoring systems.
Stakeholder and Customer Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, building strong relationships based on trust, transparency, and technical credibility.
- Manage customer expectations, providing regular project updates, performance reporting, and proactive communication.
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to support pre-sales activities, including scope definition, effort estimation, and technical presentations.
- Coordinate with OEMs (e.g., GE, Siemens, Solar Turbines), third-party vendors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration and project delivery.
- Participate in customer meetings, design reviews, and commissioning activities to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
Team Leadership and Operations:
- Lead and mentor a team of project engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee daily project operations, ensuring high performance, quality, and timely delivery of engineering deliverables.
- Manage project resource assignments, ensuring the right skills are matched to project needs.
- Drive continuous improvement in our project delivery processes, methodologies, and technical standards.
- Contribute to the development of best practices, lessons learned, and knowledge sharing across the delivery team.
What will make you successful?
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly recommended.
- Experience with Schneider Electric's Triconex platform and/or other TMC control systems.
- Familiarity with API standards (e.g., API 612, API 617, API 670) and industry best practices for turbomachinery.
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration (MBA).
- Experience with condition monitoring and vibration analysis systems (e.g., Bently Nevada).
- Familiarity with Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure platform and related control systems.
- Experience with Agile or hybrid project management methodologies.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline) or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in turbomachinery control systems, industrial automation, or process control, with a significant focus on the oil & gas, power generation, or refining industries.
- Proven track record in project management, leading complex technical projects from initiation to completion.
- Deep technical expertise in turbomachinery control systems, including gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, and related rotating equipment.
- Strong understanding of control system hardware and software, including PLCs, DCS, HMI, SCADA, and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with turbomachinery control platforms such as Schneider Electric's Triconex, Woodward, GE Mark VIe, Honeywell, or Bently Nevada systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
