Overview

THE ROLE:

The Technician I, Changeover is responsible for the effective changeover of the packaging lines between product runs.This will include breakdown of equipment, re-assembly/ set-up of the line to run the next product and assisting with line clearance. The Changeover Technician optimizes equipment performance by fine tuning and adjusting equipment to improve quality and efficiency and coordinates with maintenance for any assistance needed. This position is very experienced in packaging equipment operation, change overs, set up of equipment and works independently in the execution of duties on all packaging lines which will include sanitation and rust mitigation applications. This position will receive direction from the Supervisor and or Lead, and work closely with line leads to ensure schedule adherence.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:

  • Performs change over, take down and sets ups on packaging line equipment in powder and tea packaging lines. Verifies equipment change over for effectiveness, fine tuning set up to reduce any adjustments needed once packaging line starts production.
  • Report and document broken and needed repairs through maintenance dispatch or CMMS.
  • Reports to Supervisor and the maintenance department any worn, defective parts, or line concerns immediately. Writes work orders/ work requests in CMMS for any defect needing maintenance to fix.
  • Utilize production schedule to forecast tooling and equipment needs.
  • Works on improvement projects to improve change over and set up operations.
  • Performs Lock Out Tag Out procedures on packaging lines and perform all duties within OSHA safety rules and regulations at all times.
  • Develops/improves SOPs and work instructions related to change overs.
  • Navigate HMI to set up and dial in equipment
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety rules and regulations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Skills:

  • .
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to comprehend and comply with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in the English language
  • Basic understanding of hand tools and their usage.
  • Ability to disassemble and reassemble machinery.

Experience:

  • 6 months in a Production role (within Herbalife – internal candidates)
  • OR 1 year of experience performing equipment changes in a manufacturing, mechanical or similar field which include equipment set up and take downs (external candidates)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
