About this Job

The Amazon Robotics Autonomous Mobility team develops software that powers Proteus, Amazon’s first fully-autonomous mobile warehouse robot. We are growing and seek a talented and motivated Technical Program Manager to lead critical s expand our product portfolio and meet the growing demand for autonomous mobile robots across the fulfillment network. In this role you will collaborate with an industry-leading team of scientists and engineers developing state-of-the-art technologies and algorithms for autonomous motion planning and vehicle control to enable robots to safely, reliably and efficiently navigate through dynamic environments in the presence of humans and other equipment. The successful candidate will be a hands-on TPM with a track record of coordinating complex product development initiatives and delivering high-performance, scalable and reliable systems that solve real-world problems. Experience with robotics, hardware/software systems and/or embedded systems is strongly desired.

Key job responsibilities - Define and manage the lifecycle of complex, cross-functional programs by establishing mission, vision, objectives, and measurable success criteria that align with organizational goals. - Drive alignment across engineering and business stakeholders by facilitating crisp decision-making, negotiating priorities, and ensuring technical and business needs remain in sync throughout program execution. - Proactively identify risks, resolve ambiguous problems, and close gaps between teams, processes, and system architectures to reduce exposure to common failure modes and keep programs on track. - Leverage data and metrics to monitor program health, surface insights, and drive continuous improvements that are quantified and communicated clearly to leadership through narratives and status updates. - Collaborate with engineers to evaluate system designs, question assumptions, and make informed trade-offs between scope, timeline, and technical constraints while ensuring solutions scale to meet long-term business needs.

About the team We are a multi-disciplinary team of Applied Scientists and Software Engineers with expertise in Computer Vision, SLAM, motion planning and controls. Our mission is to deliver a robust software solution the utilizes state-of-the-art sensor technologies and algorithms to enable safe and efficient operation of autonomous mobile robots throughout the Amazon fulfillment and transportation network. We take this mission seriously and work hard to achieve it, but we have a lot of fun along the way. After all, what's more fun than building robots? Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of technical product or program management experience - 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience - 3+ years of software development experience - 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience - Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules - Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership - Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps - 5+ years of robotics system components and controls experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
