About this Job

Your tasks

  • You develop and implement safety-critical solutions for autonomous forklift robots operating in logistics and production environments
  • You translate safety concepts and system requirements into robust software architectures, Safety PLC implementations, and industrial control systems
  • You design, implement, and maintain software components across robot control, motion control, and low-level autonomy functions
  • You define and execute verification and validation activities, including integration, fault-injection, and system-level testing
  • You collaborate closely with functional safety experts, system architects, and software engineers to ensure safe and reliable system operation
  • You act as a technical expert for safety-critical software and PLC development, driving engineering excellence and mentoring colleagues

Requirements

  • You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Robotics, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • You bring 6+ years of professional experience in safety-critical software development, industrial automation, robotics, or Safety PLC solutions
  • You have strong experience with industrial safety controllers or Safety PLCs; experience with Siemens S7 and TIA Portal or SICK Flexi Soft/Flexi Net is highly desirable
  • You have proven experience implementing and validating safety functions according to standards such as ISO 13849, IEC 61508, or IEC 62061
  • You have a solid understanding of safety concepts, safety architectures, and requirements-driven development
  • You are familiar with verification, validation, requirements traceability, and V-model-based development processes
  • You have experience integrating sensors, actuators, industrial communication systems, and field buses, ideally CANopen
  • You ideally bring experience with SICK safety laser scanners, ROS-based robotics systems, C++ or Python development, ros_control/ros2_control, Docker, or motion-control frameworks
  • You enjoy creating clear technical documentation and working with version control systems
  • You communicate fluently in English and have German language skills at B1 level or higher
  • You are willing to work primarily on-site and ideally live in or close to Munich
