THE ROLE:
We are looking for anEngineer with an obsession forfirmware.As part of the role, thisengineer will work closely with other firmwareengineers,developersand architects across various IPs in designing and implementing firmware that spans pre-siliconand post-silicon for all AMD SoCs.
THE PERSON:
You are passionate about firmware development with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical owner for firmware for supporting next generation interconnect technologies both for AMD proprietary and industry standards like PCIe, CXL, and USB4.
- Engage as a teammate and work closely with multi-functional teams such as BIOS, power management, architecture, design, and verification on delivery of integrated firmware solutions.
- Develop low level firmware for embedded systems in an RTOS environment.
- Support pre- and post silicon as well as production cycle efforts
- Develop and support full design cycle of embedded firmware solutions including architecture, validation and production
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience combined with technical education within the semiconductor industry
- Expert level experience producingquality embeddedfirmware
- Well versed in software engineering practices.
- Experience with industry standard RTOS like Zephyr or FreeRTOS
- Experience in ASIC architecture and digital design flow concepts
- Knowledge of BIOS concepts
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors orMastersdegree (preferred) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
