About this Job
POSITION SUMMARY
1HMX is seeking a motivated Software Engineering Intern to support development efforts for embedded and application-level software used in our human-machine interface (HMI) products. This internship provides hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects supporting aerospace, medical, industrial, and gaming customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of software for HMI applications
- Write, debug, and maintain code under guidance from senior engineers
- Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting, and validation testing
- Document software functionality, test results, and development activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or closely related field
- Must currently be in Junior year of college, or Senior graduating in May or December 2026 who is seeking a summer internship
- Foundational knowledge of programming languages, preferably including C++
- Experience with Unreal Engine and/or Unity preferred, including Blueprint Visual Scripting or C# scripting
- Basic understanding of embedded systems and hardware/software interaction preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced engineering environment
