Job Summary

The Senior Platform Integration Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end technical integration of weapon systems onto manned and unmanned aircraft platforms, covering aero-mechanical, electrical, software, safety, and certification aspects.

The role spans the full lifecycle from feasibility assessment, through system architecture definition, ICD validation, software and hardware integration, to ground and flight test aircraft to store clearance and qualification activities

This position requires a hands-on systems engineer who can operate confidently across various OEMs, weapon suppliers, test organizations, and airworthiness authorities, translating requirements into executable, certifiable integration solutions

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support weapon-to-aircraft integration activities across manned and UAV platforms
  • Validate aero-mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces between aircraft, stores management systems, rack launchers, and weapons
  • Develop modify and review Interface Control Documents (ICDs) in accordance with MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, RS-485, and discrete I/O architectures.
  • Establish software and logical integration for store to aircraft compatibility (Knowledge of UAI communication protocol desirable)
  • Support carriage and release flight test activities for multiple aircraft-store integration projects, analyze flight test data, troubleshoot and resolve aircraft to store integration issues.
  • Support integration of guided munitions, telemetry and datalink systems
  • Conduct and author feasibility studies, compatibility assessments, and trade studies for new platform-weapon combinations
  • Define system architectures, functional flows, and operational concepts (CONOPS) for integrated weapon systems
 

Experience & Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aeromechanical, system or mechanical engineering
  • 8 – 12 years’ of solid experience in aircraft systems integration, involving weapon or mission system integration
  • Prior experience mentoring and supporting engineers at different skill levels.
  • Proven experience in System engineering logic protocols and documentation
  • Advanced knowledge in integrating weapons into platforms and upgrading existing systems
  • Functional experience working with end-users and customers
