Position Summary

Senior Power Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and optimization of power electronic systems and equipment. This role focuses on power conversion technologies, including AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters, motor drives, power integration, and power systems. The engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions that meet technical, safety, and customer requirements. Working on next generation advanced power systems technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop power electronic converters, inverters, rectifiers, AC/DC, DC/DC converters and motor drive systems.
  • Perform component selection and sizing for power semiconductors, magnetics, capacitors, and protection devices.
  • Develop electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams.
  • Design control algorithms for power conversion and motor control applications.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging power semiconductor technologies such as SiC and GaN devices.
  • Design and optimization of advanced DC-DC converters, inverters, and motor drives, developing novel topologies for energy management, high-performance operation, and compact form factors.
  • Circuit design and PCB development in Altium Designer, ensuring signal integrity, thermal performance, and manufacturability.
  • Model and validate system behavior using MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, and LTspice.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor’s/ MSc or PhD degree in electrical engineering, Power Electronics, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in power electronics design and development.
  • Strong understanding of power conversion topologies and switching devices.
  • Experience with PWM techniques, digital control systems, and embedded control platforms.

Core Competencies

  • Power Converter Design (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC, DAB, resonant DAB converters)
  • Modulation techniques (PWM, AWM, Phase shift modulation)
  • Motor Drives and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong background in power electronics, electric drives, converters and motor control systems.
  • Proven experience with converter/inverter design and advanced control algorithms (Field Oriented Control, Drive Torque Control, trapezoidal control).
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer for PCB layout and design-for-manufacturability.
  • Experience with HIL testing, EMC compliance, and thermal system design.
