As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will develop innovative and complex hardware systems for our emerging robotic solutions and scale designs to production. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience designing and troubleshooting custom robotics systems from the ground up and at scale. They enjoy analytical problem solving and possess practical knowledge of robotic design, fabrication, assembly, and rapid prototyping. They thrive in an interdisciplinary environment and have led the development of complex electro-mechanical systems.

Key job responsibilities - Work with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including specification, design, prototyping, validation and testing - Owner of the detailed design and performance of a robotics design - Work with the Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organizations as well as vendors to ensure a smooth product launch - Write functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures - Exhibit role model behaviors of mechanical engineering best practices, thorough and predictive engineering analysis and cradle to grave ownership - Design and adaptation of holistic hardware solutions for ambiguous problems with fluid requirements. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering - Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD experience and understanding of best practices for part design, and advanced assemblies - Experience leading the mechanical detailed design of electro-mechanical systems - Hands on experience crafting proof-of-concept models and prototypes - Thorough understanding and use of principals, theories and concepts in mechanical engineering and ability to apply them to product design - Organizational skills and the ability to work well with teams - Experience communicating concepts to leadership and writing technical documents - Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment - Experience with full lifecycle development - Experience evaluating design, performance and logistical tradeoffs for hardware systems Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production - Experience with the project management of technical projects - Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume - Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools - Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent - Experience launching a product at scale - Demonstrated experience collaborating with Electrical and Controls engineers - Proficiency documenting designs in accordance with ANSI Y-14.5 - Experience designing and debugging tooled (sheetmetal, cast, injection molded, etc) components - Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECO’s

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
