QinetiQ Target Systems Canada is seeking a Senior Embedded Electronics Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of cutting-edge electronic systems for unmanned vehicle platforms. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of defense and aerospace technologies while mentoring the next generation of engineers.


๐Ÿ› ๏ธ What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Lead the design and development of embedded electronic systems, including PCBs and power boards.
  • Define and manage system requirements and specifications.
  • Review and approve schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate across engineering and operations teams to meet system and project goals.
  • Support field testing and operational deployment.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to project planning and cost estimation.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, internal policies, and QinetiQ values.

๐ŸŽ“ What You Bring

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in embedded electronics design and debugging.
  • Membership in APEGA or eligibility under the Washington Accord.
  • Proficiency in tools like Altium and platforms such as PowerPC, STM32, and x86.
  • Familiarity with avionics, marine, or military systems is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of electronic schematics and system design.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with configuration management and test equipment (e.g., JTAG, oscilloscopes).

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Eligible for Canadian Class 2 Security Clearance.
  • This position involves work on the factory floor and participation in field testing, requiring a high level of situational awareness and adherence to safety protocols.
