TITLE: SR 1. Electric Technician

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Electrical Technician is responsible for electrical, electronics, and maintenance of all equipment. Performs other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Industrial maintenance degree or similar from a state certified technical school or community college is required. Completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship can be substituted
  • 6 years of experience in industrial electronics minimum is required
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Other Skills/Abilities
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Experience with PLC controls and variable speed drives
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and evenings as needed. Also must be able to work on-call as needed
  • Must be able to read electrical schematics
  • The ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings is a plus
  • Can work with limited supervision (ie. night shift)
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • All skills, knowledge and job duties of Electrical Technician A.
  • Troubleshoot and replace micromaster, sinamatic, 6se42 and 6ra24 drives and load parameters.
  • Troubleshoot, re-synch, repair or manually command all millroll cranes and shuttles.
  • Troubleshoot and repair packaging cranes.
  • Troubleshoot and manually command AGVs.
  • Re-synch arms on primary slitter.
  • Manually command Uteco and L3 packing conveyor systems.
  • Be able to replace complex control units with correct part.
  • Replace and configure temperature controllers, soft starts, Sick lasers, Atlas arm nodes, and Berger Lahr units.
  • Effectively troubleshoot Profibus communication issues not involving PLC.
  • Correct all issues with equipment following power outages.
  • Replace brushes on DC motors.
  • Connect and be able to reverse servo motors.
  • Check, repair or replace cables on slitters.
  • Pull wire and run conduit for new installations of electrical equipment.
  • Train and instruct others on troubleshooting equipment.
  • Assists Maintenance technician in the lubrication and repair of mechanical equipment
  • Maintain all equipment in good running order
  • Ensure that job site is clean and free of hazards
  • Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices when running equipment
  • Interacts and communicates with Production supervisor during shift and assist on production line when needed
  • Maintains professional certifications and keeps updated on all procedures and policy changes; keeps training up to date
  • Operates all maintenance equipment safely, follows LOTO procedures at all times

  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
  • Loud noise
