Prime Air is building an ultra-fast delivery platform targeting 500 million packages per year by end of the decade. We're looking for a Senior Configuration Control Specialist with strong technical, research, and analytical skills and a track record of driving the right things forward, fast. You'll work alongside engineers and cross-functional teams across Program, Engineering (HW/SW), Manufacturing, Quality, Product Support, and Operations to build robust configuration management across this ecosystem.

Key job responsibilities What You'll Do

  • Identify gaps in configuration management and propose solutions quickly
  • Interface across a broad range of technical areas to enable consistent CM practices
  • Operate with autonomy in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment

What We're Looking For

  • Breadth across engineering disciplines with depth in select areas
  • Practical experience managing configuration of complex systems
  • Comfort working in cross-functional, highly technical teams

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the change management lifecycle, from intake and impact evaluation through approval (including Change Control Board facilitation) and implementation tracking
  • Coordinate change integration activities, tracking design changes from approval through physical implementation into the product
  • Manage configuration status accounting, product baselines, and product lifecycle data releases
  • Process owner for system configuration (drone, site, and software) across operations
  • Support production fleet and next generation product Config transitions
  • Drive Configuration & Change Management process improvement (Tier 2 focus area)

About the team The Configuration Management, Facilities & Infrastructure Tools (CMFIT) team defines, deploys, and refines the process controls and tooling behind Prime Air's manufacture, qualification, operations, and configuration management. We're supporting a platform targeting 500 million packages per year by the end of the decade. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline - 5+ years' experience in an aerospace or highly regulated environment - Experience in configuration management of complex integrated hardware systems - Experience managing Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), or Master's degree in engineering, management, or technology - 5–10+ years in aerospace/defense configuration management - Familiarity with AS9100 and FAA/EASA audit trail requirements - BOM management across engineering, manufacturing, and service variants - Change management process design and execution - Experience in a production-rate environment (not just R&D/prototype)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
