About this Job
At Wisk, we're transforming the future of urban mobility through safe, all-electric, autonomous flight. We are a passionate team working together toward a sustainable future, solving high-impact problems that have never been solved before. By delivering everyday flight for everyone, we're making it possible to spend less time getting there and more time being there. If you want to be part of shaping the future of mobility, then read on!
We are looking for a Senior Autonomy Engineer to join our team. The goal of a Senior Autonomy Engineer at Wisk is to develop prototype autonomy software and flight software to build the first fully autonomous all-electric aircraft that performs and operates safely in an urban air-mobility environment. You will be part of the Autonomy & Airspace Integration (A&AI) Flight Path & Contingency Management (FPCM) team that designs and writes code via traditional hand-coding methods or with Matlab/Simulink products in a model-based development environment to support the autonomous operations of the Wisk Gen 6 aircraft.
This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 3 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.
In this role you will work with peers to create prototype software and flight software that enables fully autonomous operations of our aircraft. As a Senior Autonomy Engineer, you will be focused on development of the Behavior Management module. Behavior Management uses the behavior trees autonomy algorithm to encode aircraft behaviors during all phases of flight. The Behavior Management module is a core component of the Vehicle and Mission Management System, and your role would be to develop autonomy algorithms to support behavior operations testing and autonomy software development as our product increases in maturity.
What you will do:
As part of the Autonomy & Airspace Integration organization, and deployed in the Autoflight & Navigation Integrated Product Team, you will act as a Senior Autonomy Engineer for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market
You will take part in validation of key autonomy and airspace integration technologies through simulation and flight test.
You will support peer Autonomy Engineers, Software Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Simulation Engineers.
You will help coordinate autonomy algorithm development of Behavior Trees and autonomy software feature development and testing in simulation and flight, through model-based development of the Behavior Management module and associated tests and infrastructure in Matlab/Simulink.
Requirements
BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or relevant engineering discipline, with at least 5 years of experience with a BS or 3 years of experience with an MS working in autonomy software development for small or large UAS.
You have worked in the aerospace industry or robotics industry.
You have hands-on experience with designing, developing, and integrating autonomy software on simulated and real vehicles.
You are familiar with the MathWorks Model-Based Development tools, i.e., MATLAB Simulink Requirements, Check, Coverage, Code Inspector, Test, Report Generator and/or Polyspace Bug Finder, Coder Prover.
Compensation and Benefits:
In addition to offering a great work environment and the opportunity to be part of the team making electric autonomous flight a reality, at Wisk, we offer excellent total rewards which include a competitive base salary, annual bonus, long term incentive, 401K, health benefits and much more.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay range the company expects to pay: $186,000 - $219,000 per year - The starting base salary within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
