Job Description

  • Programming from scratch, maintenance and update of existing PLC software and HMI application, mainly based on Siemens platforms (TIA Portal, WinCC, Step 7) for Kanadevia Inova PLC systems
  • Continuous development and improvement of Kanadevia Inova software and hardware solutions in cooperation with the R&D and Service department
  • Review of technical specifications and Request for Quotation documentation to ensure accuracy, conformance with norms and codes and client specifications
  • Configuration of Networking devices (Managed switches, routers, DMZ routers, firewalls)
  • Initial setup and configuration of industrial PC’s
  • Factory Acceptance Testing and commissioning of KVI PLC systems both on site and remote
  • Willingness to globally travel up to 20% and willingness to perform the stand-by duty with the team

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Siemens PLC systems (TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC)
  • Master or Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering
  • Good knowledge of various bus communication protocols (Profinet, Profibus, ModbusTCP, OPC UA, Ethernet)
  • Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and Piping and Instrument Diagrams
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach, ability to make decisions
  • Very good detailed knowledge of process engineering procedures and process functions and basic electrical knowledge
  • Analytical thinking, planning and organizational competence, high quality standards, technical flexibility as well as team- and communication skills
  • Fluency in English, German and French are advantageous
