SCADA Engineer supports the lifecycle of wind power plant projects from sales to the service phase. Our job is to turn groups of wind turbines into a functional power plant unit running efficiently and according to contractual and regional requirements. We are looking for a SCADA Engineer who has the experience and competency to manage a complete SCADA Project and be part of a multicultural team.

Responsibilities

  • The primary objective of this position is to carry out the detailed engineering of the SCADA and PPC system, OFC Network, SCADA & PPC installations, configuration, and commissioning
  • Creation and review of Technical Requirement Specifications and Design Descriptions
  • Regular customer interactions in support of SCADA issues and topics
  • Provide support for high-impact break-fix issues with existing SCADA systems
  • Design and troubleshoot network issues remotely and on-site
  • Creation and review of Test & Verification Procedures and Reports
  • Perform corrective and preventive maintenance for installed SCADA and PPC systems
  • On-call technical support to remote sites
  • Reports on system status and coordination for updates
  • The SCADA Engineer-PPC will be the primary point of contact for the SBU Region for all PPC activities, including technical advisory and collaborating with the ASP SCADA teamand global SCADA & PPC, regardless of the project phase - Sales, Construction, or Service

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with minimum 3 to 8 years of experience or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience with the design and implementation of SCADA and Electrical control systems for industrial automation systems
  • Experience working with SCADA systems, preferably in Wind Power Plants or the power industry
  • Experience in AB PLC programming and automation
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols (MODBUS, DNP, OPC, IEC61850, IEC-60870, IEC61400-25, etc.) and other relevant communication standards

Competencies

  • Strong communication skills in English, both in speech and writing
  • Motivated by finding solutions to meet customer needs inside existing design constraints
  • Core competencies in networking fundamentals
  • Experience and understanding of IEC 62443 standard
  • Familiar with fiber optic principles, termination, and testing equipment/techniques
  • Industrial electricity and electronics knowledge
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft OS, Server, and SQL, including administrative functionalities
