About this Job

  • Pipeline Control, Protection and Monitoring*
  • Develop, install, manage and maintain equipment used to monitor, control, protect and gathering relevant data on the Pipeline
  • Carry out regular audit and inspection to ensure that condition and operation of the Instrumentation and control systems are in line with the overall operating philosophy.
  • Configure and program automation and control systems including development of HMI and all SCADA applications.
  • Lead in performing integrity, start-up and functionality test of the SCADA, DCS and SSS systems.
  • Maintain of SCADA, DCS and systems software and administering software change control process.
  • Deploy and maintain of SCADA system alarm creditability and prioritization.
  • Monitor and ensure high availability of SCADA system and perform necessary corrective maintenance
  • Engage all the region station coordinators weekly to capture all issues on an issue log for tracking and resolution.
  • Lead and set up firewalls to ensure boundary devices (routers etc.) security from outside attacks; and ensure uniformity is maintained organization-wide.
  • Operate, Support and Maintain all the Communication Network Infrastructure within WAPCo*
  • Deploy, configure and support the LANs, WANs, Voice communication and Internet systems.
  • Roll out new equipment and perform corrective and preventive measures on existing equipment.
  • Monitor network to ensure high availability of all network systems and perform necessary corrective maintenance.
  • Plan and Manage IP address within the organization.
  • Protect Network systems against internal and external system threat through the administration of firewalls and intrusion detection systems and configuration of appropriate network access filters.
  • Ensure secured remote access to information through the management of VPN gateways.
  • Maintain Inventory of equipment and parts as well as vendor documentation.
  • Ensure all network systems are backed up and ensure healthy backups.
  • Ensure proper documentation of every activity involve in.
  • Ensure weekly engagement of all the station coordinators in the region of coverage

  • Available 24/7 on call for operations support except when on vacation.
  • Develop relevant documentations, procedures and report formats.Administrative Tasks
  • Lead assigned key activities/projects and synergize with other stakeholders
  • Raise all requested PRs, RPOs and track POs for effective project management and timely vendor payment.
  • Provide a weekly report on all departmental transactions ( PR, PO,RPO) pending ,processed and/or closed in Maximo.
  • Key Competencies and Qualifications:*
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in industrial control systems and communication technologies.
  • Alternatively, candidates with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in the above fields must have at least 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Cisco certification is mandatory—minimum requirement is CCNA or CCNAS.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with:
  • o Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • o ABB Distributed Control System (DCS) 800xA
  • o ABB SCADAvantage/comparable SCADA platform
  • Strong technical foundation in industrial automation, networking, and system integration within operational technology environments.
