Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside proactive, collaborative, and innovative teammates.

You'll play a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of our train fleets. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (fleet managers, depot managers, project engineering managers, and data analysts), provide real-time technical support, and assist with troubleshooting and maintenance activities.

You’ll specifically take care of monitoring train systems remotely and responding promptly to operational anomalies, but also support depot personnel in reducing repair times and ensuring fleet availability.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Providing real-time technical support and instruction to customers, drivers, and station personnel during train service operations

  • Utilizing diagnostic tools like HealthHub to support remote technical troubleshooting

  • Supporting the fleet manager to ensure effective and efficient maintenance of the fleet, ensuring trains are clean, reliable, and safe for operation

  • Interfacing with customers to ensure project execution needs and safety constraints are met

  • Defining and implementing fleet strategies to align with customer contractual requirements

  • Collaborating with traffic control and fleet management to manage train availability and service recovery

  • Analyzing incidents and supporting root cause investigations to drive continuous improvement

  • Preparing detailed reports and documentation of off-site maintenance activities

  • Conducting field inspections, special checks, and assessments of rolling stock

  • Reviewing fleet failures and downtime reports to identify recurring operational issues and implement solutions

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical) or proven experience in railway maintenance and operations

  • Experience in Train Monitoring System development, validation, or commissioning

  • Knowledge of business analytics tools such as Tableau or Power BI

  • Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations in railway operations

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure

  • Experience in customer service or technical support, preferably in the transportation or railway environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders

  • The ability to work on a shift basis

  • Data-driven mindset, making objective decisions based on facts and insights

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilise our dynamic and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

  • Progress towards roles such as Fleet Support Center Manager

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
