Position Objective
The Robot Technician Trainee is an entry-level position designed to develop the skills needed to become a Robot Technician. This role supports the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of robotic and automated systems while learning through hands-on training and mentorship.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Training & Skill Development
- Participate in structured on-the-job training related to robotic systems, controls, and automation.
- Learn basic robot operation, programming, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Demonstrate progress toward competency in assigned training areas.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working with robotics and automation equipment.
Robotic Systems Support
- Assistin performing basic inspections and preventative maintenance on robotic systems.
- Support troubleshooting efforts under the direction of a Robot Technician or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Help respond to equipment issues andobservecorrective actions.
Automation & Equipment Support
- Assistwith basic electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks.
- Support simple repairs involving conveyors, pneumatic systems, and tooling.
- Observe andassistwith PLC and HMI updates as directed.
Continuous Improvement Exposure
- Learn toidentifycommon equipment issues andimprovementopportunities.
- Participate in basic problem-solving activities and team discussions.
- Support improvement projects as assigned.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams.
- Communicate effectively with supervisorsregardingtraining progress and equipment issues.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings.
Qualifications
Required
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in automation or robotics
- Ability to follow instructions and learn from hands-on training
- Good attendance and reliability
Preferred
- Technical schooling or coursework in robotics, electrical, or mechanical fields
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
