Join Our Team as Robotics Service & Integration Technician
Robotools Canada is seeking a hands-on Robotics Service & Integration Technician to support the servicing, integration, deployment, and customization of industrial robotic systems. This role combines field service, robot maintenance, electrical integration, commissioning, custom fabrication support, and customer deployment activities.
This is an opportunity to work on a wide variety of advanced automation projects, including industrial welding robots, custom robotic material handling cells, autonomous mobile robot (AMR) systems, industrial automation equipment, and prototype R&D platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, customers, suppliers, and fabrication teams to help build and deploy real-world robotic systems throughout British Columbia and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
Service, inspect, and maintain industrial robot systems, including Kawasaki industrial robots, Fairino cobot systems and Proprietary robot systems.
Assist with the design and testing of R&D test equipment.
Wire industrial control systems, sensors, instrumentation, and safety devices.
Install robot cell fencing, safety systems, cabling, and automation hardware.
Accurately position and assemble robot cell components from drawings and layouts.
Assist with robot commissioning, recovery, and startup using teach pendants.
Perform troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues.
Support custom fabrication, prototype assembly, and integration activities.
Travel to customer sites throughout British Columbia for installations and service call.
Support occasional travel to the USA for supplier visits, technical training, and equipment support.
Maintain safe working practices around industrial automation equipment.
Desired Skills & Experience
Electrical, automation, mechanical, or mechatronics technician background preferred.
Experience with industrial robots or industrial automation equipment.
Comfortable using industrial robot teach pendants.
Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems and industrial sensors.
Basic understanding of robotic arm kinematics.
Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
Experience with pneumatics and industrial IO systems is an asset.
Welding, fabrication, or machining experience is an asset.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently at customer sites.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to adapt and learn new robotic systems and technologies quickly.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally (e.g. USA).
- Willingness to travel throughout British Columbia.
- Ability to lift equipment and work in industrial environments.
- Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and follow safety procedures.

- Compensation: This is a full-time, permanent position with an annual salary range of $75,000 to $95,000, based on experience and qualifications.
